Blue Ribbon Campaign

In 1995, C.O.P.S. initiated an annual public awareness campaign to educate everyone across our nation of the significance of National Police Week and the observance of Peace Officers’ Memorial Day.  In 1995 Concerns of Police Survivors distributed 100,000 blue ribbons to law enforcement agencies.  This year 1.5 million ribbons will be distributed!

During National Police Week of each year, the week containing May 15, Concerns of Police Survivors encourages everyone to display a blue ribbon on vehicle antennas.  Law enforcement agencies are encouraged to tie blue ribbons to cruiser antennas.  Citizens are encouraged to also tie blue ribbons to their vehicle antennas.  These blue ribbons are a reminder of law enforcement personnel who have made the ultimate sacrifice and in honor of those men and women who continue to serve their communities 24 hours a day, 7 days a week each and every year.

Any strip of royal blue ribbon will work.  It’s not for just one week in May that blue ribbons can fly for law enforcement.  Blue ribbons can be observed on citizens as well as law enforcement vehicles throughout the year.  We encourage you to feel free to “fly the blue” all year long.

If you are a member of the law enforcement community, you may fax a request to be added to the Blue Ribbon Campaign direct mailing list.  Fax requests ONLY will be accepted with a minimum of 25 ribbons and a maximum of 500 per request.  Fax your request to 573-346-1414.  Click here for order form.
